ODBC driver

Hi,
When importing QuickBooks tables into IDEA via the ODBC driver in the IDEA import window, i sometimes get tables that either have missing information in certain tables or tables that dont have transactions at all. When i go directly into QuickBooks, those transactions are there in the reports.
Questions:
Does IDEA have it's own built-in ODBC drivers?
Is it a known issue that some information may not be imported when using IDEA's ODBC driver?
Any suggestions on how to fix this? New driver download?
Thanks
Marc

Hello Marc, no IDEA does not have its own built-in ODBC drivers it relies on the drivers supplied by the third party companies.

I just had a quick look at the Quickbook site and not all information is available, not sure if this is your problem:

"Access to payroll data, multiple Ship To addresses, unit of measure and other information is not available due to the limitations from the QuickBooks Software Development Kit (SDK)."

I have used ODBC drivers in the past with IDEA and have never had a problem but I have never used them with Quickbooks.  I would probably suggest making sure you have latest drivers and maybe contact Intuit about the problem.

Thanks Brian,
I'll try another ODBC driver.

While not an ODBC driver, you might want to look at this QuickBook to Excel utility. Then bring the Excel files in to IDEA after.
